Ask the right questions


In wedding industry so saturated and overwhelming how do you pick the right vendors for you?

Picking a photographer is such a tedious task especially with all the scams out there now so how do you know your picking the right one. I'm here to help you know the right questions to ask your photographer!


It's so important to throughly look through their work and make sure you love it! Their style; posing and editing! It's also important to make sure you click with them. They are there to capture the most important day of your lives you need to vibe!Someone you see you, your friends and family being comfortable and themselves around. Do they listen to your concerns? Are you comfortable with their communication style? Do you feel a connection to their photos?


Compile a list of your top favorites


• Ask how many years have they been in business and how many weddings have they shot?


• ASK to see some full galleries? Specifically a similar date, style or same venue as your wedding.


• ASK about their gear and their process to keeping the photos safe in terms of a mishap. Do they have backups?

Do they have 2 camera and multiple lenses?

Do they have multiple flashes?

Does their camera have dual SD card slots?

How do they backup your photos?


• Ask about their approach to weddings. Are the accommodating, more candid or posed? Will they take photos at yours and the guests request? Will they help you make a family formals list?


•Ask do they have experience working with videographers and do they have one they recommend and work with often?


• Ask do they have experience with rain and Flash?

Are they throughly comfortable with it?


• Ask if they use associate photographer? Will they have other weddings/events/sessions the same day?

Do they edit their own work or outsource?


• Ask if they have liability insurance?


• Ask in the event they can't be there what will they do to make sure the date is covered?


• Ask do they send edited sneak peeks? What is their turnaround time?


• Do Meet with your photographers over for coffee or zoom!


• Ask do you give us a print release? Do you limit on downloads or digital images?


• DO an engagement session with your photographer!


• Do read their reviews on Zola, The Knot, Google, yelp, Facebook!


• Do throughly vet their social medias and website.

Do you like their photos of all lighting types? Flash, harsh lighting, indoor/outdoor?


• Do ask for reference, and places like Facebook forums for couples that may have used them
